Tracely
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Who this is about
Tracely ("the app", "we") is a voice-first health diary for iPhone, developed by Bjorn Schefzyk in Berlin, Germany. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. See the Imprint for contact details.
What Tracely does with your voice
You speak into the app. The audio is transcribed on your device using Apple's built-in on-device speech recognition — the recording itself is not sent to us or anyone else. The resulting text of what you said is then sent to an AI service (OpenRouter) through Tracely's own small proxy server, which turns it into structured diary entries (symptoms, food, medications, times).
Only when you explicitly tap "Run analysis" is your entry text sent again to look for patterns across your diary. Nothing is analysed in the background without you asking.
The AI provider processes the text to return a result and, per its terms, does not use it to train its models. Tracely does not keep a copy of your text on its servers in normal operation.
Where your data lives
Your diary entries — your transcripts and the structured data built from them — are stored on your device and in your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit), under your Apple Account. The developer has no database of your entries and cannot read your iCloud. Syncing between your devices is handled by Apple, not by us.
What we don't do
- No advertising.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No profiles built about you for marketing.
This is not medical advice
Tracely is a diary and a pattern-spotting aid. It is not medical advice, not a medical device, and not a diagnosis. The AI can be wrong. For any medical concern, talk to a qualified clinician.
Your rights (GDPR)
The developer is based in the EU (Germany), so the GDPR applies. Because your data lives on your own device and iCloud:
- Access & export: your entries are already on your device and in your iCloud, where you can view them at any time.
- Deletion: delete individual entries in the app, or remove all of it by deleting the app and its iCloud data — anytime, without asking us.
- For privacy questions, or to exercise any GDPR right, email bjoern.schefzyk@gmail.com.
Children
Tracely is not intended for children under 16.
